I-190 Northbound Between Exits 14 and 15 to be Reduced to One Lane From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16 and Wednesday, September 17
Significant Delays Expected During Scheduled Closures and Drivers Encouraged to Seek Alternate Routes
The New York State Thruway Authority today announced temporary lane closures on the Niagara Thruway (I-190) northbound on Tuesday, September 16 and Wednesday, September 17. The closure will allow crews to safely perform a surface treatment that will improve the driving surface.
From 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16 and Wednesday, September 17, one lane will be closed to traffic alternating in both directions between exit 14 (Ontario Street - Vulcan Street) and exit 15 (NY Route 324 - Sheridan Drive - Kenmore Avenue).
Drivers should expect significant delays throughout the duration of the closures and may want to consider using Niagara Street or avoiding the area.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change. Variable Message Signs (VMS) are lit in the area to alert drivers of the scheduled roadwork.
Motorists are urged to be alert and follow the posted work zone speed limits. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
