TRAVEL ADVISORY – BUFFALO: TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF I-190 BETWEEN EXIT 2 (CLINTON STREET)
AND EXIT 4 (SMITH STREET) SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 5 INTO WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6

Closure Scheduled to Begin at 10 p.m. Tuesday and Reopen to Traffic by 5 a.m. Wednesday

During the Temporary Closure, All Northbound Traffic Must Exit at Exit 2 (Clinton Street); Southbound Traffic Will Be Diverted at Exit 4 (Smith Street)

Detours Will Be Posted

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced the temporary overnight closure of the Niagara Thruway (I-190) between exit 2 (Clinton Street) and exit 4 (Smith Street) starting at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 5 through 5 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 6. The overnight closure is necessary to remove an overhead sign structure that crosses all lanes of traffic on I-190 at exit 3.

During the scheduled closure, all northbound traffic will be diverted of I-190 at exit 2 (Clinton Street) and follow the posted detour via Baily Avenue and Seneca Street and reentering I-190 at exit 4. All southbound traffic must exit I-190 at exit 4 (Smith Street) and follow the posted detour via Seneca Street and Bailey Avenue before reentering I-190 south at exit 2.

In addition, all entrance and exit ramps from exit 3 (Seneca Street) will be closed during the scheduled work.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
