Service Areas
There are 27 Service Areas located at convenient intervals on the Thruway system and are open 24 hours daily. Each service area includes Public/Family Assist Restrooms, Gas Station with Diesel Fuel, Free Wi-Fi, ATM, E-ZPass On-the-Go, and Bagged Ice. Additional services along the Thruway include Welcome Centers, Parking/Rest Areas and Commuter Park & Ride Lots.
Please be advised that Thruway Authority Service Areas are not designed for long term parking or multiple day stays. Unattended vehicles left in service areas for more than 4 hours are subject to being towed at owner’s expense. For assistance call 1-800-842-2233.

Gas Prices at Service Areas
Fuel prices at Thruway Service Areas take effect at the beginning of the day shift on the day after a survey is conducted. Surveys are conducted between 6am and noon at these locations:
Taste NY Farm Markets
For almost 20 years, the Thruway Authority and NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets have partnered to give travelers the chance to sample some of the finest locally grown produce that New York's farms have to offer. Only produce grown or produced in New York State may be sold.

There are 12 Parking/Rest Areas and 3 Welcome Centers located at convenient intervals on the Thruway system. These parking/rest areas and welcome centers are open 24 hours daily and offer parking and emergency call stations, *unless otherwise noted.

Service Area Redesign and Redevelopment Project
The New York State Thruway Authority’s 27 service areas were being redeveloped as part of a $450 million private investment plan with Empire State Thruway Partners. All 27 service areas have reopened. As part of the project, 23 of the 27 service area restaurant buildings were rebuilt, with significant renovations and upgrades to the remaining four. Other amenities include Taste NY markets, modern restaurant concepts, outdoor seating, food trucks, playgrounds, and pet walking areas, among other amenities.
