THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF NEW INTERCHANGE RAMP BRIDGE OVER THE BERKSHIRE SPUR IN COLUMBIA COUNTY
Ramp Bridge at Interchange B2 Over I-90 Replaced with Modern Structure
$7.6M Project Included Safety Upgrades, New Signage and Pavement Markings

The Thruway Authority today announced the completion of a replacement ramp bridge over the Berkshire Spur (I-90) at Interchange B2 (Taconic State Parkway - NY Route 295) in Columbia County.  The $7.6 million project was completed on time and on budget.

The new ramp bridge, which replaces the original 62-year-old structure, connects traffic from the Taconic State Parkway northbound with I-90 westbound, as well as I-90 westbound traffic exiting to the Taconic State Parkway southbound.

“More than 2,700 motorists travel the ramp bridge at exit B2 every day,” Thruway Authority Executive Director Matthew J. Driscoll said. “Reinvesting toll dollars back into the roadway for infrastructure projects such as this bridge replacement improves safety for motorists and updates older structures to modern standards.”

Numerous safety upgrades were included in the project such as new pavement, railings and barriers, and new signage and pavement markings.

The project was completed by Harrison & Burrowes Bridge Constructors, Inc. of Glenmont, NY.
