    E-ZPass Commercial Charge Account Programs

    Commercial vehicles are those that fall into one of the following Authority vehicle classes: 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 5S, 6S, 7S. 

    Standard and Toll Management E-ZPass Commercial Charge Account types have two billing components, post-paid and pre-paid.

    1. Post-paid: Account activity related to travel at Authority facilities covering the prior month’s transactions paid after receipt of a monthly invoice.
    2. Pre-paid: Account activity related to travel at non-Authority facilities paid by withdrawing the amount due from a pre-funded balance.

    Commercial Charge Account Program Benefits

    • Volume Discounts – A Thruway Authority E-ZPass Commercial Charge Account customer qualifies for a discount on their Thruway System toll charges when Thruway System toll charges exceed $1,000 a month. The Volume Discount is tiered and applies to the monthly post-paid invoice as follows:

    Between $1,000 - $2,000 10%
    Between $2,000 - $3,000 15%
    Charges Over $3,000 20%
    • Multiple Accounts - Wholly owned subsidiaries or divisions of a parent company may create sub-accounts to aggregate tolls for volume discount eligibility. Consult a Thruway Authority Commercial Services Representative for more information regarding this option.
    • The E-ZPass Commercial Charge Account Post-paid invoice can be paid online by ACH or by check.

    Minimum Qualifications to Apply

    • For commercial trucking companies that directly own or lease at least 5 commercial vehicles.
    • Incur more than $1,000 in monthly Thruway System tolls.

    Minimum Qualifications to Apply

    • At least one year of experience collecting a minimum of $100,000 of tolls annually on behalf of toll agencies operating with in the United States OR Minimum annual revenues of $5 million and two years of experience in the fields of customer service, technology, transportation or finance.

    Ongoing requirements include but are not limited to:

    • Incur a minimum of $100,000 in toll charges annually.
    • 85 percent of the Toll Management Service Provider’s monthly tolls for travel on the Thruway System must be for commercial vehicles.
