New York Regional Advisory Message

Coverage area: I-87 Thruway from the NY City Line to Exit 19 (Kingston), Garden State Parkway (GSP) Connector, I-95 New England Thruway and I-287 Cross Westchester Expressway

This is the New York State Thruway Regional Advisory message for the New York area. Now, for the urgent reports Attention... The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from Saturday PM (January 19th) through Sunday PM (January 20th) for the majority of the State. Heavy snow and poor visibility is expected. ALL tractor-trailers (including long and short tandems) and buses will be banned from traveling on the Thruway System from the Pennsylvania State Line to the NYC Line, including I-190, I-287 and the Berkshire Spur, both directions, until further notice.

Expect State Police enforcement. Violators may be ticketed and/or LCV/Tandem operators will risk suspension of their authorization to travel on the Thruway System.
Now for Travel Time Information, I-87 Southbound from Exit 14A - Garden State Parkway milepost 24 to mid-span on the Gov Mario Cuomo Bridge milepost 14, the current estimated travel time is 11 minutes. OK, it's traffic time Currently, there are no traffic reports With the ongoing construction of the Governor Mario M Cuomo Bridge, motorists are advised to keep their eyes on the roadway, avoid distractions, and tailgating other vehicles. Hudson Valley Regional Advisory Message

Coverage area: I-87 Thruway from Exit 16 (Harriman) to Exit 21A (I-90 East/Massachusetts Turnpike) and I-84

This is the New York State Thruway Regional Advisory message for the Hudson Valley. Now, for the urgent reports Attention... The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from Saturday PM (January 19th) through Sunday PM (January 20th) for the majority of the State. Heavy snow and poor visibility is expected. ALL tractor-trailers (including long and short tandems) and buses will be banned from traveling on the Thruway System from the Pennsylvania State Line to the NYC Line, including I-190, I-287 and the Berkshire Spur, both directions, until further notice.

Albany Regional Advisory Message

Coverage area: I-87/I-90 Thruway from Exit 18 (New Paltz) to Exit 29A (Little Falls) and I-90 Berkshire Connector

OK, it's traffic time On I-87 - NYS Thruway in both directions, between Exit 19 (I-87) - Kingston (Rte 28) and Exit 20 (I-87) - Saugerties (Rte 32) Variable message signs are operating . And now a rundown of scheduled construction projects on the New York State Thruway in the Albany Division for the week of January 21, 2019:

On the Berkshire Connector:

Road Work between Exit 21A, Thruway Mainline I-87, and Interchange B1, Hudson/Rensselaer will have east and westbound Left lane closures on Tuesday & Wednesday, from 7AM to 2PM.

Road Work between Interchange B2, Taconic Parkway, and the Massachusetts State Line, will have east and westbound Left lane closures Thursday and Friday, from 7AM to 2PM

On Interstate 87:

Road Work between Interchange 18, New Paltz and Interchange 19, Kingston, will have north and southbound right lane closures Tuesday thru Thursday, from 7AM to 2PM.

Road Work between Interchange 19, Kingston and Interchange 20, Saugerties, will have a northbound right lane closure on Friday, from 7AM to 2PM.

On Interstate 90:


Road Work between Interchange 25, Schenectady and Interchange 25A, Duanesburg, will have westbound right lane closures from Tuesday thru Friday, from 8AM to 2PM.

Road Work between Interchange 26, Rotterdam and Interchange 27,
Amsterdam, will east and westbound right lane closures Tuesday thru Friday, from 7AM to 2PM.


In addition to these projects, motorists can expect to see Thruway Personnel along the entire length of the Thruway performing routine maintenance. Please use caution when traveling through highway construction zones and remember to obey all posted work zone speed limits. For your safety, as well as the safety of our construction and maintenance workers, most of the work zone speed limits will be posted at 55MPH and will be strictly enforced by State Police. Please remember to use caution when entering Toll Plazas and be aware that it is necessary for toll personnel to cross lanes from time to time. As always, remember to wear your seat-belt and have a safe and enjoyable trip.
