Thruway Authority to Continue with Tappan Zee Bridge Deck Replacement Project Mon., Dec. 17 through Fri., Dec. 21
Additional work on the Tappan Zee Bridge deck replacement project will continue December 17 through December 21, the New York State Thruway Authority announced today. However, there will not be any nighttime work on the bridge during this period.
In case of inclement weather, the work may be postponed. Updates will be issued to announce any change in schedule.
Monday, December 17 through Friday, December 21
No nighttime lane closures scheduled.
Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, December 23
No work scheduled.
For the safety of the public and construction workers, motorists are urged to proceed with caution and obey posted work-zone speed limits.
The deck replacement is complete, but additional work will continue through the spring.
Traffic updates will be broadcast to motorists via electronic signboards along the highway and by Highway Advisory Radio 530 AM in the Tappan Zee Bridge corridor, and 1610 AM in the Newburgh area.
