Thruway Authority Announces Night Road Work on Route 300 in Newburgh to Necessitate Lane Closures

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced milling and paving road work will take place overnight on Route 300 in Newburgh during the next two weeks, beginning tonight, Monday, September 14, 2009. This work is being performed as part of the I-84/I-87 Interchange 17 Reconstruction Project.

Pavement milling will be done from the Newburgh Mall to the Route 17K intersection in both the northbound and southbound directions, beginning Monday night, September 14.  The work will take place from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. and is scheduled to be completed on Thursday, September 17. Paving the milled surface is expected to take place upon completion of the milling. The paving work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, September 24, 2009. Both the milling and paving operations will require lane closures on Route 300.

Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 1610 AM and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) have been activated to advise motorists of the road work.

The Authority appreciates patrons’ patience as this essential work takes place.
