Exit 23-24 Concrete Work to Continue Through July 3
Ground Vibrations Likely During Break-up of Old Pavement
Some ground vibrations may be experienced weekdays through Tuesday, July 3, because of the mechanical demolition of existing highway pavement in the Exit 23-24 Corridor in Albany, New York State Thruway Authority announced.
The vibrations are caused by the use of a power driver to break up existing pavement as part of the highway reconstruction. No explosives or blasting devices are used.
The impact on specific neighborhoods bordering the work zone is temporary as the construction moves along the seven-mile-long corridor.
The work is scheduled between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Friday, between the Myers Middle School on Kelton Avenue and Delaware Avenue.
