To ensure that the needs of the traveling public are met today and into the future, it becomes necessary to rehabilitate, replace or improve certain components of the Thruway’s aging infrastructure.
Studies
Studies involve noise analyses, alternative feasibility, corridor and toll collection improvements, potential environmental impacts, and alternative energy projects. These studies eventually result in design projects to implement the necessary improvements.
Projects
Several projects are carried out each year that result in less traffic congestion, improved toll lanes, and improved overall infrastructure.
