PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION FOR TOWNLINE ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT OVER THE THRUWAY (I-90) IN ONONDAGA COUNTY

The New York State Thruway Authority has scheduled a public information session regarding the replacement of the Townline Road Bridge in the Towns of Dewitt and Salina, in Onondaga County, on Wednesday, November 15, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The existing bridge was originally built in 1953 and carries Townline Road over the Thruway (I-90) in the Towns of DeWitt and Salina. This project is an example of the Authority’s reinvestment of toll dollars to improve the infrastructure for our customers, creating a safer and more enjoyable traveling experience.

The Thruway is a user-fee supported roadway and receives no dedicated federal, state, or local tax dollars.

The existing structure will be replaced with a new bridge featuring increased vertical clearance, new bridge railings, and a new riding surface. Approximately 12,400 vehicles per day travel over the Townline Road Bridge.

The project is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2024 and be completed by the end of 2025.

The public information session will include renderings and information boards on display, and representatives from the Thruway Authority will be available to answer questions about the project and proposed detour.
