THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF $12.5 MILLION PAVEMENT RESURFACING IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
Project Included Resurfacing of More Than 68 Lane Miles on the NYS Thruway (I-90) East of Exit 28 (Fultonville) and East of Exit 29A (Little Falls)
Work Completed On Time and On Budget

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced the completion of a $12.5 million pavement resurfacing project on the NYS Thruway (I-90) in Montgomery County. The project was completed on time and on budget, and included the resurfacing and various safety upgrades to a 17 mile stretch of the Thruway east of exit 28 (Fultonville) and east of exit 29A (Little Falls), as well the repavement of the exit 29 (Canajoharie) interchange.

“The on time completion of this project ensures that the thousands of motorists that travel this section each day have a smooth and safe ride,” said Thruway Authority Executive Director Matthew J. Driscoll. “By reinvesting toll dollars into our roadway, we are building a more reliable, modern infrastructure system that will continue to drive economic development and benefit millions of travelers for many years to come.”

The project was completed by Callanan Industries, Inc. from Schenectady, NY.

Along with the resurfacing of more than 68 lane miles of the Thruway, the project also included multiple safety upgrades such as new mile markers and more reflective line striping for increased safety to a section that serves approximately nine million vehicles each year.

The project is part of the approximately $50 million the Thruway Authority has reinvested in infrastructure projects in Montgomery County over the last three years.
