THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING ON ROUTE 9 MULTIMODAL IMPROVEMENTS IN THE VILLAGE OF TARRYTOWN

Date:  October 4, 2017

Time: 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Location:
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
455 S. Broadway
Tarrytown, NY 10591

The Thruway Authority today announced that a public information meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. to discuss improvements on Route 9 (South Broadway) in Tarrytown from Route 119 and the Thruway’s (I-87/I-287) Interchange 9 ramps. The open house session will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel at 455 S. Broadway in Tarrytown.

The project involves multimodal improvements to improve existing traffic operations, including adding a second left turn lane from southbound Route 9 onto the Interchange 9 entrance ramp, widening the interchange ramp, installing a new traffic signal at Paulding Avenue, and building a side path and bridge for pedestrians and bicyclists to the west of the existing vehicular bridge on Route 9 over the New York State Thruway. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2018 and take approximately one year to complete.

The session will feature information boards and renderings of the project upon completion. There will not be a formal presentation. Representatives from the Thruway Authority and the New York State Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions.
