THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING ON FUTURE BRIDGE REMOVAL PROJECT IN THE TOWN OF HAMBURG

The Thruway Authority today announced that a public information meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. to discuss the removal of a Thruway bridge over Camp Road (NYS Route 75) and the removal of ramps on the south side of Camp Road at Exit 57 (Hamburg). The information session is being held at the Hamburg Town Hall, Room 7B, 6100 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, NY 14075.

This project involves the removal of the bridge over Camp Road, including the removal of exit and entrance ramps, and for the construction of a road-level intersection with a traffic light. This project will improve the flow of traffic and upgrade roadway features such as lane, and shoulder width. Additional improvements will include upgraded pedestrian accommodations and road surface improvements for enhanced rideability. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2018 and take approximately one year to complete.

The public information session will feature several renderings presenting images of the project upon completion. Representatives from the Thruway Authority and the New York State Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions.
