TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF TOLL LANES AND RIVER ROAD RAMP ON NORTHBOUND SOUTH GRAND ISLAND BRIDGE; MONDAY APRIL 21 THROUGH FRIDAY MAY 9

Temporary toll lane closures are scheduled for the northbound South Grand Island Bridge Toll Plaza and the River Road on-ramp from Sunday, April 20 through Monday, May 9 due to a pavement rehabilitation project.

Toll Lane 2 and the northbound River Road on-ramp will close at midnight on Sunday, April 20 and re-open at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2. Motorists looking to travel north on I-190 should follow the posted detour route.

Toll Lane 5 will close at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5 and re-open at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9.

The project will be completed in accordance with the requirements of Governor Cuomo’s Driver’s First Initiative, which prioritizes the convenience of motorists and ensures that disruptions are as minimal as possible for drivers at highway and bridge projects across the state.

The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this scheduled maintenance work.
