THRUWAY ANNOUNCES POSSIBLE SHORT-TERM TRAFFIC STOPPAGES AT EXIT 36 (WATERTOWN--BINGHAMTON--I-81) ON I-90 EASTBOUND
ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 16
Temporary Stoppages Will Result From Emergency Bridge Work
Motorists traveling eastbound on the New York State Thruway (I-90) in the Syracuse area will experience possible traffic stoppages at exit 36 (Watertown—Binghamton—I-81) from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight on Thursday, January 16 due to emergency repairs on the exit 36 eastbound exit ramp.
Eastbound motorists headed for I-81 northbound are encouraged to use exit 34A (Syracuse—Chittenango—Oswego—I-481) to access I-81 via I-481 during these emergency repairs. Eastbound motorists headed for I-81 southbound may use exit 39 (Syracuse—Fulton—I-690—NY Route 690) to access I-81 via I-690.
The stoppages, which are expected to be limited to the exit ramp only, are projected to last no more than 15 minutes at a time.
Electronic signboards will update motorists about any delays.
