The New York State Thruway Authority and Canal Corporation will hold a public auction Wednesday, September 11 at 9 a.m. at the Thruway Authority’s facility on River Road (Route 144) just north of Thruway Exit 22 in Selkirk.

The auction will offer many surplus items including passenger cars, pickups, trucks, a boat, and storage building. Bidders will also find a variety of tools, tires, and supplies.

The sale will be held primarily outdoors regardless of weather conditions. Items may be inspected Tuesday, September 10 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the day of the sale from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Detailed information about the items to be auctioned is available on the Thruway Authority’s website at:
http://www.thruway.ny.gov/business/purchasing/auction/.

Free hard copies of the auction items information may be obtained at the Thruway Authority’s Administrative Headquarters Building at 200 Southern Blvd., Albany, or by calling (518) 436-2749.

All items offered for sale in this auction have been determined by the New York State Thruway Authority and Canal Corporation to be surplus to their needs. In most cases, such items are non-operational or have exceeded their useful life whereby repairs are no longer cost-effective.

Some items contain information on deficiencies known to the Authority. However, the absence of such information does not mean that deficiencies do not exist nor does it change the terms of the sale which are “as is, where is,” with no guarantee or warranty either express or implied.

Other items may also be available on the Internet. Please visit www.ebay.com and click on “Community” at the top of the page. Type in the User ID name: “nys-thruway-surplus” and click “Find a Member.” It is necessary to be a registered member of the E-bay community to access this information.
