I-190 BRIDGE REPAIR WORK TO BEGIN SEPTEMBER 9
Project part of Governor Cuomo's Driver's First Initiative
to minimize traffic disruptions
Beginning on Monday, September 9, motorists traveling on I-190 between exit 1 (South Ogden Street) and exit 4 (Smith Street) may experience weekday delays for the next 2 months as bridge improvements are implemented.
The project will be conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Governor’s Driver’s First Initiative, which prioritizes the convenience of motorists and ensures that disruptions are as minimal as possible for drivers at highway and bridge projects across the state.
Work will be done daily in two shifts – 2 p.m. through 10 p.m. and 10 p.m. through 6 a.m.
This $6.3 million dollar contract bridge repair project is part of the Thruway’s Capital Program and is scheduled for completion during summer 2014.
All work is weather dependent.
The Thruway Authority thanks motorists for their patience and understanding during this necessary construction.
