MORE FARMS TO PARTICIPATE IN THRUWAY FARMERS MARKETS
New York-Grown Produce, Goods For Sale At Thruway Travel Plazas

The New York State Thruway Authority has announced a list of additional farms that will be participating in the “Tailgate Farmers Markets” at Thruway travel plazas throughout the state.

“These Tailgate Farmers Markets are just one way the Thruway is contributing to Governor Cuomo’s push to stimulate tourism throughout the state and especially upstate,” said Thruway Executive Director Thomas Madison. “These markers offer our customers some of the best products that New York’s farmers have to offer and give them a taste of New York.”

For almost 20 years, the Thruway Authority and New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets have partnered to give travelers the chance to sample some of the finest locally grown produce that New York’s farms have to offer. Everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to edible herbs and horticultural products can be found at a Tailgate Farmers Market. Only produce grown or produced in New York State may be sold.

The first Tailgate Farmers Markets of 2013 opened on Memorial Day. Participating farms, their products, location, and hours of operation are below.
