Traffic Pattern to Change Monday on I-87 Exit 24 Southbound Entrance Ramp
ALBANY – The traffic pattern will change on the southbound entrance ramp at Exit 24 (Albany) on I-87 beginning Monday, September 17, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.
Southbound travel lanes will remain the same, but the Exit 24 entrance ramp will be shifted to the right. This change is effective through the end of October.
The traffic shift is part of the ongoing reconstruction of the Exit 23-24 corridor. The overall project is on schedule to be completed in the fall of 2013.
Motorists are informed about the traffic shift and any delays that may result, via electronic signs and by Highway Advisory Radio (1610 AM).
The work zone speed limit for this project is 55 miles-per-hour. Fines may be doubled for speeding through a work zone.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while this project moves forward.
