Traffic Pattern Change for Exit 23 Southbound Exit Ramp
Change Begins Tuesday
ALBANY -- A traffic pattern change will affect the Exit 23 southbound exit ramp of the Thruway reconstruction project between Exit 23 (downtown Albany, I-787) and Interchange 24 (I-90 and I-87) beginning Tuesday, August 21, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.
Southbound travel lanes will remain the same, but the Interchange 23 exit ramp will be shifted about 500 feet south. This change is effective through the end of October 2012.
Motorists are informed about the project, and any delays that may result, via electronic signs placed along the highway and by Highway Advisory Radio broadcasts on 1610 AM in the Albany area.
All motorists are reminded that the speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour within the construction zone. Motorists are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding through work zones.

The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this time.
