I-90 Eastbound Lane Change Slated for 5 a.m. Mon., Oct. 22
Hamburg-Silver Creek Improvement Project Continues
BUFFALO – Motorists on I-90 eastbound will encounter lane changes from at 5 a.m. Monday, October 22, through Friday, November 16, between Exit 57 (Hamburg) and Exit 58 (Silver Creek) as construction work continues, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.
Beginning Monday, October 22, all westbound traffic will be shifted back to a normal two-lane traffic pattern. Eastbound traffic remains in a restricted two-lane pattern until November 16 as contractors remove the concrete median. Following the removal of the median, eastbound traffic will return to a normal two-lane traffic pattern.
This is the final phase of a three-year $91.2 million reconstruction project which includes a 13-mile-long section of Thruway, rehabilitation of six bridges, installation of new guide rails and rehabilitation of the highway drainage systems through this corridor.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this required improvement project.
