First Responders Training Exercise on I-90

Hands-On Exercise for First Responders: Highway and Traffic Control
WHO:
New York State Thruway Authority, New York State Police, Erie County Emergency Services, NYSDOT, Evans Police and Fire, Lakeview Fire, Scranton Fire, Rural Metro, Montgomery and Bachs Towing, NITTEC
WHY:
The practice of controlling traffic during an emergency incident is one of the most dangerous jobs for any law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, highway maintenance, and firefighters. This exercise is designed to further educate first responders on how to better control a scene during emergencies.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
Media planning on attending MUST gather at the Lakeview Fire Station #1, 2005 Lake View Road, Hamburg, NY, at 7:15 p.m. for check in and an escort to the event on westbound I-90 in Angola.
Take I-90 westbound to Exit 57 (Hamburg). Camp Road (Route 75 North) to Southwestern Boulevard. Turn left on Southwestern Boulevard (Route 20). Turn right on Lakeview Road.
