Lane Shifts on I-90 Eastbound Between Exit 57A and Exit 57
Traffic Pattern Changes Monday, July 16
BUFFALO -- Westbound traffic on the New York State Thruway (I-90) will encounter lane shifts between Exit 57A (Eden, Angola) and Exit 57 (Hamburg) beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, July 16, the Thruway Authority announced.
Beginning Monday, July 16, all westbound traffic will be shifted on to the re-constructed eastbound lanes. The changeover will be completed on Friday, July 20.
A concrete median on the eastbound lane will separate traffic for both directions. Signs for reduced speed in this crossover section will be posted along with emergency detour signage.
This phase of reconstruction is approximately 6.5 miles in length. The westbound crossover is expected to continue through mid-December.
This Thruway reconstruction project is in the final year of a three-year, $91.2 million contract with Union Concrete and Construction Corporation, West Seneca, to upgrade 13 miles of the roadway, equal to 52 lane-miles.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during these scheduled improvements.
