Lane Closures for Pavement Repairs between Schenectady and Albany
Pavement repairs on the Thruway between Schenectady and Albany will necessitate the closure of the right and center lanes westbound from milepost 150.0 to milepost 152.0, between Interchange 25 (Schenectady I-890) and Interchange 24 (Albany I-90 & I-87) on Tuesday, June 26 and Wednesday June 27, weather permitting, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.
Thruway Maintenance crews will be making repairs to the right and center lanes westbound, between milepost 150 and milepost 151, necessitating the right and center lanes be closed from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Thruway Maintenance crews will also be making repairs to the right and center lanes westbound, between milepost 151 and milepost 152, necessitating the right and center lanes be closed from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be posted in advance to provide motorists with notice of the construction and required lane closures. Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) will also be activated to alert motorists of the lane closures.
Motorists are reminded to remain alert and aware of their surroundings while traveling through the work zone. Motorists should also keep in mind that speeding fines are doubled in work zones.
