Traffic Alert Update: I-87 Southbound Lanes Between Exit 8A and 7 Now Open, All Northbound Lanes Still Closed
The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that all I-87 southbound lanes between Exit 8A (Sawmill River Parkway) and Exit 7 (Ardsley) have reopened. All northbound lanes between Exit 7 and 8A remain closed, however.
A new detour route has also been put in place for northbound motorists after they have gotten off at Exit 7. They should take Route 9A north to Route 119 west where they can reenter I-87 at Exit 9 (Tarrytown).
The Authority is utilizing Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM to notify motorists of the closure and detour.
