ROCHESTER – The rest area on the New York State Thruway (I-90) eastbound near Rochester is closed temporarily because of a fallen tree, the Thruway Authority announced.
The rest area is at milepost 353, between Exit 46 (Rochester, Corning) and Exit 45 (Rochester, Victor) is expected to re-open Thursday, May 31.
This emergency closure is resulted from a 60-foot tree that fell during high winds to create a hazard in the rest area.
Electronic message signs and Highway Advisory Radio (1610 AM) will be activated to notify motorists of the closure.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this weather-related work.
