Final Weekend Closure on I-190 Scheduled April 27
Traffic Detour Set for Southbound Motorists
BUFFALO – The final weekend road closure on I-190 is scheduled from 7 p.m., Friday April 27, 2012, through 6 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2012, the New York State Thruway Authority announced today.
All southbound traffic will be detoured off the Niagara Expressway (I-190) at Exit 15 (Sheridan Drive, Kenmore Avenue). Motorists looking to return to southbound I-190 should follow posted detour signs and re-enter I-190 beyond the work zone at the Peace Bridge-Busti Avenue on-ramp.
Tandem trucks will not be allowed southbound beyond Exit 17 (River Road).
This construction project includes rehabilitating existing pavement on both the northbound and southbound sections of I-190. In addition to road repairs, the contractor will replace overhead signage, complete shoulder and ramp repair work, and clean and seal pavement joints.
Variable Message Signs and Highway Advisory Radio (1610 AM) will be activated to notify motorists of traffic updates.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorist’s patience during this scheduled construction.
