Temporary Traffic Stops on I-87 Southbound
Night Work on New Traffic Pattern in Orange County
Motorists on the Thruway (I-87) southbound in Orange County may encounter temporary lane closures on the evening of Monday, April 9, 2012, during a nighttime traffic shift, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.
The new traffic pattern will be established between Exit 16 (Harriman) and Exit 15A (Sloatsburg, Suffern) between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
The altered traffic pattern will be in effect for about six months during the replacement of a Thruway bridge that passes over East Village Road in the Town of Tuxedo.
The traffic shift will necessitate multiple traffic stops. The traffic stops are scheduled to last no more than 20 minutes each.
Electronic signboards will update motorists about expected delays.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this scheduled event.
