Temporary Traffic Stops on I-87 North and Southbound
Night Work on New Signs in Rockland County
Motorists on I-87 north and southbound in Rockland County may encounter temporary lane closures on the nights of March 26, 27, 28, 29, 2012, during the nighttime installation of new signs, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.
The construction activity will be between Exit 13 (Palisades Interstate Parkway) and Exit 14 (Spring Valley, Nanuet, Route 59) on March 26, 27 and 28 between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m.
On March 29 from 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the work will shift to the area between Exit 15A (Sloatsburg, Suffern) and Exit 16 (Harriman).
The sign installation will necessitate multiple traffic stops. The traffic stops are scheduled to last no more than 20 minutes each.
Electronic signboards will update motorists about expected delays.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this scheduled event.
