Thruway Announces Lane Closures and Flooding Near Exit 15 NB on I-87
Motorists Advised to Drive With Caution or Seek Alternate Routes
The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that all northbound lanes on I-87 at milepost 30.2 near Exit 15 (Route 17S) have been closed to traffic due to severe flooding.
Flooding has also been reported in both directions at milepost 38.8 between Exit 15A (Sloatsburg) and Exit 16 (Harriman). Lanes remain open in those areas, but motorists should drive with extreme caution or seek alternate routes.
Emergency crews and Authority personnel are on site and closed lanes will be reopened as soon as conditions permit.
Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) have been activated where available to inform motorists of the closures and additional flooded areas.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this time.
