Thruway Authority Announces I-87 Ramp Closure for Tree Removal

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that the southbound I-87 Exit 7A ramp to the Saw Mill River Parkway south will be closed on Tuesday, March 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for tree removal. 

Motorists will be directed to the following detour routes:

From  I-87 southbound take Exit 8A to Route 119 .  Turn left onto Route 119 east, proceed on Route 119 east for about 500 feet and turn right onto Valley Road to the Saw Mill River Parkway south .

From I-287 westbound take Exit 1 to Route 119. Turn left onto Route 119 east, proceed on Route 119 east for about 1000 feet and turn right onto Valley Road to the Saw Mill River Parkway south.

Motorists should follow the posted detour signs and  monitor electronic signs.

 Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM will be activated to inform motorists of the closure.

The Authority appreciates patrons’ patience while this work takes place.
