Thruway Authority Announces Exit 9 (Peace Bridge-Canada-Porter Avenue) Southbound Ramp on I-190 to Be Temporarily Closed on Tuesday, December 15 Due to Repairs
Southbound Motorists Advised to Follow Signed Detour Route
The New York State Thruway Authority announced repairs on I-190 will necessitate the closure of the Exit 9 (Peace Bridge-Canada-Porter Avenue) southbound ramp beginning at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, weather permitting.
A signed detour route will be in place directing I-190 southbound traffic to Exit 8 (Niagara Street), through the Virginia Street/Carolina Street crossover before Niagara Street, to the I-190 northbound Exit 9 (Peace Bridge-Canada-Porter Avenue).
The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to advise motorists of this ramp closure.
The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience while this important repair takes place.
