Thruway Authority Announces Ramp from Scajaquada to I-190 Southbound to Temporarily Close Beginning Friday, December 4
Motorists Advised to Follow Signed Detour Route December 4 - 5

The New York State Thruway Authority announced the ramp from the westbound Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198) to the I-190 southbound will be temporarily closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 4, until 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009, for a bridge joint repair, weather permitting.

For the duration of the closure, a signed detour route will be in place for motorists planning to travel southbound on I-190. Westbound traffic on the Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198) will be directed to I-190 northbound to Exit 12 (Amherst Street), turn left onto Niagara Street northbound, left at Hamilton Street, and then take another left on to Dann Street where they will be able to proceed to the I-190 southbound entrance ramp.

The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to advise motorists of this closure.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience while this important project takes place.
