The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that all lanes in both directions along I-190 near Exit 16 (I-290, Youngmann Memorial Highway) at milepost 13.3 have been closed.

Earlier this morning, there was an accident on the ramp from I-290 to the I-190; the I-290 ramp crosses over I-190 at milepost 13.3. Debris from the accident has fallen from the I-290 ramp onto the I-190 driving lanes.

As a result of the accident and debris, the Authority has closed the travel lanes of I-190 in both directions near Exit 16 at milepost 13.3. Motorists traveling in this area should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

At this time, traffic and maintenance crews from both the Authority and New York State Department of Transportation are on the scene. State Police and the Fire Department are also on the scene.

The Authority will open all lanes along I-190 in this area as soon as conditions safely permit.

The Authority has activated Highway Advisory Radio and Dynamic Message signs to alert motorists. The Authority has also issued a TRANSalert to subscribers.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding during this unplanned closure.
