Commercial License Plate Transponder Mounting GuidelinesFor proper operation, make sure the transponder is mounted as follows:
Identify the transponder bottom (or rear) face. It contains orientation symbols (arrows) next to the mounting holes. Agency or customer specific labels may be present on any face. (See Figs 1,2)
- Fasten the transponder with the existing license plate screws using the knock out holes in the case. Ensure that the transponder is oriented as in (Fig. 2)
- There is one area of concern regarding license plate tags (LPTs). By the name, one would believe that this tag is attached to the license plate regardless of where the license plate is located. This is not the case.

All LPTs should be attached to the center of the bumper slightly above the center of the width of the bumper. If the license plate is in the center of the bumper, the tag can be placed on the top part of the license plate lined up with the license plate holes. Example:
